1st Essay Question: What characteristics of Renaissance artwork are seen in Leonardo da Vinci’s Virgin of the Rocks (Louvre version) and the Last Supper? Describe what is happening in each painting. Compare these two paintings and show how they exhibit characteristics of Renaissance artwork. Answer fully, you want at least 7-8 paragraphs for an answer.
2nd Essay Question: Caravaggio is a Baroque artist and Delacroix is a Romantic artist. Show how Caravaggio’s work is an example of Baroque (so know the characteristics of Baroque art) and Delacroix is an example of Romantic art (so know the characteristics of Romantic art.) Be able to compare these two artworks.
Describe what is happening in each painting. Compare these two paintings and show how each painting shows the typical characteristics of art of its time period. How can we tell that they were painted during different time frames? Answer fully - about 7 to 8 paragraphs.
